“Episode” is the title of a series of group exhibitions at Mohsen Gallery that, irrespective of whether or not they have a common theme or medium, feature the works of young, emerging artists that have not been given the opportunity to show their works on the contemporary art scene. Furthermore, these exhibitions are a versatile showcase that represent the narrative approach of a new generation and their unique visual concerns. Therefore, the audience of these exhibitions are mainly students, art collectors, and curators. “Episode” is held twice a year, in the summer and winter. The artists of the sixth edition of the series are Sogol Ahadi, Leila Eskandari, Nazanin Gharanjik, Kimia Mirzaei, Hosein Mohamadi, Jamshid Mohammadi, Farhad Mofavaz, Sahar Najafi, Mahsa Nouri, Alireza Rajabi, Samaneh Salehi Abri, and Arezou Shahdadi.
With all their similarities and differences, the works of each artist consist of a variety of subject matters with individual and personal sensibilities. Collective concerns, bits and pieces of news, presence and absence with detailed analysis of things, and an appreciation of transient moments of life and nature are weaved together in the works exhibited in the show. Darkness and light, life and death, and memory and oblivion make sense of the collective game of loss and survival.
