“Return”
The “Return” series started by reading a piece of news about migrants in Turkey who accused the Greek police of beating and forcing them to strip off in a freezing no-man’s land on the border. Frustrated bodies that have been through a lot to realize their dreams. I identify myself with each one of them, imagining the moment in which I realize I cannot afford to have a dream anymore: I have to give it up and go back. In the meantime, there is no home to return to and there is no utopia on the other side of the rainbow.

Mahsa Nouri (b. 1991, Tehran, Iran) has a BFA in Painting from the Tehran University of Art. Her works have been included in several festivals and group exhibitions. She lives and works in Karaj.
