Salim Karami (1946-2013, Rostamabad, Gilan, Iran) started painting by coincidence after he was diagnosed with cancer and continued it passionately until his last days. His works were presented in all editions of the Outsider Art Annual Exhibitions and they are now maintained in renowned domestic and foreign collections, including the Lille Métropole Museum of Modern, Contemporary and Outsider Art and Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris. (His body of works, according to the Outsider Art categories, is defined as Pure Outsider Art).
