Mahmoodkhan (b.1947, Rasht, Iran) had an accident after retirement from the Ministry of Education, which caused him a spinal cord injury resulted in his paralysis and being housebound., Discovering his natural talent, he has been painting seriously, transitioning his art into a full-time career since 2017. Within a short period of time, he turned into one of the most renowned outsider artists in Iran and internationally. His works have been displayed in the Netherlands, Germany, France, America, etc. and are preserved in the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris. He currently lives and works in Rasht.
