“Fishing” is performance that Mahmoud Bakhshi had presented in Tehran Theater Complex in the fall of 2019. In the performance, the artist uses a crane to move the components of a column made of the remnants of his earlier works to build a sixteen-meter monument made of wood, metal, and galvanized iron. Part of this sixteen-meter structure is placed in the exhibition’s front courtyard, interacting with the city and the audience like a signpost. The making of the project is documented on film, shown on the first floor together with a random episode of the L-Side Podcast. The title of the project is inspired by Billie Eilish’s song “When I Was Older.”
