Alikhan Abdollahi

Alikhan Abdollahi (b. 1963, Bamyan, Afghanistan) moved to Tehran about 30 years ago and resided in a building as a caretaker; the place where he started working initially as a mason. His encounter with Hasan Hazer Moshar in the early 2000s, attracted his interest towards Papier-mâché sculptures. Hassan, the master, taught him the technique and ever since, he has been engaged in it. Alikhan lives and works in Tehran. (His body of works, according to Outsider Art, is categorized as self-taught and primitive art).
