Past Indefinite Tense

Mehrdad Afsari

Mehrdad Afsari’s “Past Indefinite Tense” are essentially a tribute to the preciousness of the moment and a reminder of its transience. These instant photographs are pure sequences of moments in nature: in order to capture them, one needs to wait for the right moment and there is not much room for making mistakes. The particular presentation, pale colors, the insignificant details, and a sense of longing are among the features of this series. Afsari is a photographer who travels to plains, mountains, valleys, and the legacy of his ancestors, seeking to find the lost soul of the image in a digital age, aspiring to restore the ritual function of art that has now assumed a dramatic value.
