Mahmoodkhan

Mahmoodkhan (b.1947, Rasht, Iran) had an accident after retirement from teaching, which caused him a spinal cord injury, resulted in his paralysis and being housebound. Discovering his natural talent, he has been painting ever since, transitioning his art into a full-time career since 2017. Within a short period of time, he turned into one of the most renowned outsider artists in Iran and internationally. His works have been displayed in the Netherlands, Germany, France, America, etc. and are maintained in the Foundation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris. Mahmoodkhan lives and works in Rasht. (His body of works, according to the Outsider Art, is defined as Pure Outsider Art).
