Josephine

Mahmoud Bakhshi

Dealing with the relationship between an artist called Josephine and her audience. Josephine the Singer, or the Mouse Folk is the last short story written by Franz Kafka. It is the artist’s statement for the whole exhibition. The story is translated for the exhibition and narrated by the famous Iranian voice actor, Mozaffar Moghaddam, whose voice can be heard over a video of intercity spaces and footage from the vicinity of the artist’s workshop in the outskirts of Tehran (Keresht). Pages from the story are attached to the wall on the stairway of each floor, corresponding with the content of the exhibition on that floor.
