Neda Ghayouri (b. 1989, Rasht, Iran) has received her BFA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Guilan and an MFA in Painting from the Tehran University of Art. She has held one solo show and her works have been included in several festivals, biennales and group shows namely “Episode 07” in Mohsen Gallery. Ghayouri lives and works in Tehran.

“The Remains”

While nature is gradually fading away from human’s direct experience, these works intend to invite the audience to observe and touch plants once again. Plants that are used in creation of these works are great manifestations of the natural world and possess healing energy. The reason why I deal with plants is not merely to capture them: these plants are set and represented in their unique positions. This is an emphasis on their character and nature as well as an attempt to capture them before they are gone for good. What remains is nothing but an image on a piece of paper.
