Mokarameh Ghanbari (1928-2005, Babol, Iran) came to fame through her paintings. Mokarameh was illiterate. She started painting at the age of 67 and held her debut solo show in Seyhoun Art Gallery in 1995. Her works have been exhibited in numerous shows so far. Her house museum was registered by the Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) to preserve her artworks; the museum receives many visitors from all over the world annually.
