Mahdieh Kavakebpanah (b. 1989, Tehran, Iran) has a BFA in Sculpture from the Tehran University of Art. She has participated in several group exhibitions. Kavakebpanah lives and works in Tehran.

“Artificial Nature”

“Artificial Nature” is an oxymoron that calls stark contradiction of the outside works into mind. In such a world, the most beautiful things are ugly, the most natural things are artificial, and the most real things are abstractions. Using colors and photographs in this series, I have tried to generate images on the border of real and artificial, and real and abstract, to depict contradictions in the visual world.
