“Sepanj”
Places are among the most influential things in my life. Since childhood, moving from one city to another and from one house to the next, made places particularly significant to me. In the meantime, I have also been interested in the connection between a person and his place of residence and his or her struggle for survival. Abandoned places, half-finished buildings or structures, and empty spaces are the subject matters of my paintings. In my “Sepanj” series, I depict roofs. “Sepanj” means a temporary residence, a transient shelter, or a place to for a momentary rest.
