Hosein Mohamadi (b. 1993, Khorramabad, Iran) has an MFA in Painting from the College of Fine Arts, University of Tehran. His work has been exhibited in a Two-Man Show and several group shows including “Episode 06” in Mohsen Gallery. Mohamadi lives and works in Khorramabad.

“Rupture”

The series of works called “Rupture” started in early 2020. The elements in these works that are loaded with historical implications are expressed in a corporeal fashion, which is not necessarily tied to the subject matter, but is inherent to them. Stone, bread, hand (human body), and iron are elements that have been always involved in historical processes. Thus, they are chosen as both corporeal elements and visual signs. Battles, struggles, and the human progress have been directly or indirectly linked to these elements since the ancient times up to the present day. Despite the incredible developments we have seen throughout history, what brings about these changes is rupture.
