“The Long Days of the Year”

Spring
In calendars that are different from those of Chinese, Latin, and solar, the period between early march and late June, when the axis of the Earth increases its tilt relative to the sun, the first season of the temperate zones, i.e. spring, arrives. The day lengths increase rapidly, the earth becomes warmer, the plants begin to grow, and everything becomes beautiful.
In these photographs, however, my understanding of spring is the elongation of days, and the influence the sun has on the way the flowers appear, makes their reality a fantasy before my eyes.
