These objects have no use and substance of their own: they are mere shapes reminding us of certain atmospheres. Thus, they are only good for arousing our emotions and prompting thoughts about the things that once were, and are non-existence now. Something takes the place of another: but this time, a man-made structure erected in the heart of a beautiful natural environment, whose beauty has been fenced off from our gazes. This structure owes everything to the environment. It has been made right there, and will be destroyed right there. This spirit of destruction is inherent in the nature. It is with their gradual wear and their function that we get to know things that no longer exist, and the sorrow of their loss is something we will have to bear on our backs for good.
