Azadeh Barbad (b. 1982, Tehran, Iran) has a degree in Sculpting from the University of Tehran, the Collage of Fine Arts. After her graduation, she started studying and researching human beings, their habitat, and its related issues. As the nature of such studies necessitates, she has been gaining experience and organizing the expressive foundations that her work demands. During that period and according to the prerequisites of her research, she has been developing an art project entitled “Habitat,” which is a drawing, painting, photography, video, and volume installation.

Habitat
A city is perhaps the most significant human habitat. Human species have left their natural environment to build cities and civilizations. Cities are still being built on the ancient ruins. They are usually replaced by newer cities. They are still being renewed every day, similar to the old cells of the human body that is constantly replaced by new ones. In the meantime, thoughts and ideas are changed so fast that cities look like abandoned, half-built edifices: an unfinished, marred visage.
