Amirhossein Bayani

Amirhossein Bayani (b. 1977, Tehran, Iran) has received his BFA in Painting from the Tehran University of Art in 2000 and his MFA in Art Research from the Faculty of Art and Architecture of the Islamic Azad University in 2004. In his works, he explores political issues through sociological and philosophical subject matters. Institutional oppression, liberation, power, the masses, and humanity are the main themes of his works. He is a member of the Iranian Painters Society (IPS) and the Institute for the Development of Visual Arts. He was also the art director of the MERXOUT Projects. As a curator, he has held several projects since 2010, including “Midday,” Mohsen Gallery, 2017 and “Salvation, Gaza,” Niavaran Complex, 2014. Bayani has held 9 solo shows in Iran and the US and his works have been included in numerous group shows in Iran and around the world. Bayani lives and works in Tehran.
